Every Hot Rod has to have a foundation, and as mentioned earlier Allison and family relied on a ‘32Ford frame purchased from N & N Fiberglass out of Belleville, Ar. The rear section was bobbed while a Ford 9 “positions itself in place with an unequal 4 bar coil over shock setup and a gear ratio of 3:25to 1. The front suspension finds Pete & Jakes drop spindles, springs and shocks for a better and smoother ride down the road. A Vega steering box was used along with an Ididit steering column topped off with a steering wheel from Southern Rods to make the driving chores a lot easier. For stopping power, the Holt’s installed disk in the front and drum in the rear with a Corvette master cylinder and a pedal assembly by N & N. Steely wheels were then mounted in all four corners from Early Wheel which was powder coated in Grave Digger green and then tightly wrapped in Nexen/Hancook radial tires, 165/80-15 up front and 265/75-15 out back. All the work performed on the chassis was handled by Allison and her father Bill at his shop, “Bill’s Automotive” in Jacksonville, Ar.

It was decided that a ’96 Chevy Vortec 350 small block which was bored .030 over would be more than enough to scoot the little hauler down the road with ease. Machine work was performed by Bobby Dollarhide at Bobby’s Automotive Machine Shop in Benton, Ar. while assembly was handled by Allison’s father Bill. A hotter cam was in order so Bill installed an LT 4 cam, while the steel GM Vortec heads feature 2.02 intake and 1.60 exhaust valves. Topping off the little mouse motor is an Edelbrock RPM Air Gap dual quad intake with Edelbrock 500 cfm carburetors. A GM HEI ignition and Taylor wires supply the spark that’s needed while 1 ¾” stainless block hugger headers and custom handmade 2 ½” stainless exhaust with Magnaflo mufflers help empty all the spent gasses. Putting all the power back to the rear wheels is supplied by a Chevy TH 350 tranny with Larry Hatfield out of Benton, Ar. getting the credits for assembly. A 10” TCI torque converter with a 3000 stall was added while a steel driveshaft by Joint Clutch & Gear connects the tranny to the Ford 9” out back.
