Grand National Roadster Show ™

61st Annual

story and photos by John and Julia Aschenberg

  • The AMBR trophy...Whose name was added for 2010!

The Grand National Roadster Show known as "The Grand Daddy of Them All" is exactly what the quote implies. For many years several friends told us if we ever get the opportunity to attend any new shows that we need to put the GNRS show on our list. This year we hopped on a plane and headed for the city of LA to see what all the talk was about for the AMBR award. Wow! The show truly lived up to its name sake. Our weekend started on Wednesday with good friends Scott and BJ Killeen, owner and creator of Build Book, picking us up at the LAX airport. For us first timers in the city of LA it is a must to visit the In and Out burger joint. After we filled our tummies with an excellent hamburger and fries we were treated with visiting the various hot spots in town. Some of the places we had the pleasure to see were: Santa Monica Pier, Original Petersen Publishing building, Sites along Hollywood Blvd, Kodak Theatre, and the Stars Walk of Fame. Scott and BJ had the opportunity to show off their beautiful mountain scenery. They both told us that the weather had not been this clear in a long time where you could see the city's beautiful snow top mountains. All we can say is what a gorgeous site.

  • Everyone enjoyed the cars, people, and food.
