They decided to keep the original frame where it was updated with newer components, such as Borgeson drop spindles, a 605 steering box, and a SVO Ford 9" rearend spinning 3.73 gears. Ridetech from Air Ride Technologies was used in all four corners for excellent cruising ride height, plus that cool down in the weeds attitude when parked at the shows. Four wheel disc brakes were used with 11" rotors when necessary to chaulk it down. Schott Velocity Wheels were used to dress out the chassis with 18" up front and 20" on the rear all wrapped in Good Year rubber.

To easily get the wagon down the road the Kitchens chose a G.M. ZZ4 crate motor. Goodies include a steel crank, pink rods, 9.8:1 pistons and a roller cam. On top you'll find a set of G.M. aluminum heads, an Edlebrock intake and dual carburetors topped off with a custom fabricated air cleaner by Garrets Rod Shop. Sanderson headers along with Flow Master 40 series mufflers exit the spent gasses and give it that way cool throaty sound. A 4L60E transmission was chosen to properly help get the '57 down the road in the right direction.
