Sometimes in life, if you work real hard for that one certain goal our dreams do come true. However, they may not be the way we exactly or originally had them mapped out in our minds. We might encounter a road block along the way and have to take another course or path to get there, but we do eventually make it to our destiny. Jeanne & Scott Lachmiller from Belleville, Illinois started dreaming of this hot ’33 Ford 3 window coupe back in ‘2001, a hot rod they call Zoom’s ’33. At the Street Rod Nationals in Louisville, the couple purchased a body from Outlaw Performance and a frame from Vision’s Rod & Custom. In November ‘2001 the chassis was delivered. By January ‘2002 the body was at their door step, and the two of them were very anxious to get started on their new project. Then in March of the same year Scott became ill, his cancer re-occurred and he passed away in January ‘2003. With a desire and determination to complete their DREAM, Jeanne searched for a qualified builder to help complete the project. In March ‘2003 the car and all the parts were moved from Belleville down to Mount Vernon, Illinois to Tolle Road Customs to take over the project where Scott and Jeanne left off.

As previously mentioned, the body is a 3 window coupe from Outlaw Performance that came with a 2” chop. Modifications include shaved door handles; tail section bobbed 2 1/2”, a Rootlieb dual opening hood, a Rats Glass grille shell with a Jim Rench polished stainless insert, and custom taillights. After everything on the body looked perfectly smooth it was time for Jody Martin of Tolle Road Custom to spray on the Spies Hecker (Dupont) dark maroon paint called Black Red.

Every street rod has to start with a solid foundation, so Vision's Rod & Custom out of Georgia are responsible for the nice Stage III Vision's chassis sitting underneath the '33. It's equipped with a polished Heidt's IFS, an 8" rear end, polished four bar set-up, along with QA-1 coil overs, Wilwood four wheel disc brakes and a Flaming River steering box, just about every part underneath this hot rod is polished. The chassis, engine, and the bottom of the car is all painted in the same Black Red to match the rest of the car. To make it a rolling chassis, is compliments of Budnik G5 wheels and Goodyear Eagle F1 tires, 17's up front and 18's in the rear.
