Scooting Ellie’s little Maverick down the road is handled by a 1989 Ford 302 V8 with all the internal components stock. Topping off the Ford small block is an aluminum intake with an Edlebrock 4 bbl 600 CFM carburetor. Dressing out the engine consists of Ford aluminum valve covers and a 1965 Shelby Mustang air cleaner. Stock exhaust manifolds were retained with 2 ½” steel exhaust to exit the spent gasses through Magna Flo mufflers to give it that ultra-cool V8 sound. A 1970 Ford C4 tranny was used to transfer power back to the Ford 8” rear-end. Helping to select the right gear is a custom made 4 speed shifter from a 68 Ford Mustang.
