It's amazing how a project can change directions so fast in so little time. This little project all started over Thanksgiving weekend of '2008 when Steve Morley of Arnold, Mo., went to Omaha, Ne. to pick up this '29 Ford Model A to have as a shop truck for his business. The pickup was found on Craig's list where the former owner started to redo the ole '29, however was never finished. This is where Steve's girlfriend, Cheryl Kaiser comes into the picture. Cheryl was never involved in cars or racing at all until she met Steve over 11 years ago, in fact their first date was at the dirt races. The two of them started going to all kinds of racing when she finally got the thrill and excitement of a top fuel dragster blistering the quarter mile asphalt at the Gateway Nationals in St. Louis.

In the beginning Steve really had plans of having this as his shop truck for "Morley Performance Racing Engines", Fenton, Mo. Phone # 636-533-4777. He jokingly kept telling Cheryl she was going to race it. As the project progressed along, Cheryl really got involved in the building of the little blue truck. Their friends got so excited about the build they all jumped in on the action and things were beginning to take shape by early spring of '2009. But then things came to a sudden halt, when Steve was seriously injured in a four wheeling accident on April 26th '2009, not knowing if he was going to recover from his injuries. While Steve was recuperating, some of their friends thought it would cheer him up if they were to finish the truck. Tom"Pug"Cray was responsible for the body work while taking care of the dents and all the rust. After the body work was completed the '29 was ready for paint, with Kip, Pug, Steve, Mr. Augie, and let's not forget their friends in an aluminum can known as Busch and Bud Light having a hand in laying down the PPG base coat slate blue/gray. The graphics were performed by Bill Beirman of St. Louis, Mo., with the wild bi winged airplane and a hand grenade, saying Grenade Race Engines – It's Time To Blow Someone Away! – For that added touch.
