This year on May 14th John and I packed up my '62 Ford Unibody and pointed the Ford in the direction of Nashville Tennesse. For the second time we not only attended the Bridgestone Nashville Nationals we were able to make it to the Advanced Plating Open House. Let me tell you we weren't disappointed wtih the Open House or the Goodguys Show, May 15th to May 17th. We knew from what several friends had told us in the past that we would really love the open house of Advanced Plating. The crew from the shop showed their great hospitality to everyone who attended including us. We would like to thank them all for showing us the shop and the process of plating parts.
The show itself is held at the LP Field Tennesse Titan Stadium, home of the Tennesse Titans and let me tell the grounds and the background view is so neat. Titan Stadium alone is something to view and the grounds around the stadium as an ample supply of shade trees. Anyplace you stand at the show you can't help but see the beauty in the background of downtown Nashville. Besides seeing the downtown just a stones throw away, the walk is just as close to visit any of the downtown businesses.
On grounds you have plenty to entertain you with: Pros Builders area, venders, and don't forget the Auto Cross venue that is growing by leaps and bounds. This year I ran my truck for the first time on the autocross. All I can say ladies if you haven't done the autocross you need to try this event, it is a blast. I only had time between doing the event coverage to make two laps. My first lap was 87.015 and the second lap was 81.068. So I was pround to go through the course both times without hitting any cones. This is the up and coming action that is happening at many of the Goodguys Events. Before you buck the idea, you need to take a ride with one of the participants of the Auto Cross event. There are several ladies that are currently doing the autocross and would love to have you ride along to see how much fun you can have doing the autocross. I did that very thing in prior years at this show and many other shows since and I'll tell you I am hooked. Besides all of that you get the opportunity to meet up with old friends and make new ones. This was one of those bucket list items that I had down and was able to finally mark it off our list. If you have never been to the Nashville show add it to your list for 2016.
