Detroit Autorama
61st Annual
Ron & Deb Cizek captures the Ridler Award
with their
1940 Ford "Checkered Past"
-
The Detroit Autorama show in 2013 made the 61st anniversary for this event. This is a phenomemal feat in itself for an autoshow. Think about this for a moment. Let's put this in a context that we all can understand. Many of us with grandparents have seen them reach the Golden Jubilee anniversay, that big 50th. Now for our grandparents to reach the 60th that is an outstanding accomplishment. This is the same for car events! Not only is this the 61st year for the event. This year made it the 50th year for the crowning of the Ridler Winner. This year Ron & Deb Cizek in their 1940 Ford labeled "Checkered Past" captured the award.
Andy Leach and his team of builders at Cal Automotive Creations along with Charley Hutton who layed down the beautiful paint job over the custom artwork. There are so many goodies to observe on the 40. To begin with you need to check out the beautiful custom bell housing; the detail in the supension, such as the banana bent trailing arms. When you look under the hood you find the finely customized blown Mercury Flathead with a set of Offenhauser Heads that hide the Isky Cam. Looking over the outside of the 40 you will find the custom grille and hood. When you see Ron and Deb Cizek's 40 Ford be sure to allow yourself plenty of time to look over the custom job Andy Leach and his crew did on the Ford. Congratulations to all who had a hand at completing this beautiful masterpiece.
